Our friend, Jay Howell has been working on this cartoon with Jim Dirschberger of Eighty Four Films, and Andreas Trolf for the past few years and it's going to premiere pretty soon. Jay did the character design for Bob's Burgers (which is on Netflix, and is awesome!). You can see some of his and Jim's older animation work here: eightyfourfilms.com

Sanjay and Craig, featuring the voices of Chris Hardwick (The Nerdist) and Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock), kicks off the 20-episode season beginning Saturday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m., The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Created by Jay Howell, Jim Dirschberger and Andreas Trolf, Sanjay and Craig follows the misadventures of Sanjay (Pancholy), an excitable and irreverent 12-year-old, and Craig (Hardwick), a smooth-talking snake and master of disguise, as they go on kid-inspired quests.

Additional voice cast include Linda Cardellini, Matt Jones, Tony Hale, Kunal Nayyar and Grey DeLisle. THR debuts an exclusive clip from the premiere episode, where Sanjay and Craig infiltrate the hospital to see the world's first butt transplant in "Brett Venom MD."

“The comedic and outrageous adventures of Sanjay and Craig deliver the perfect yet distinctive mix of weird, wonderful and random humor that is both unconventional and modern, which this post-millennial world has a strong affinity for,” said Russell Hicks, president of content development and production.

Teppei Interviews Marci

CULINARY ARTS: featuring Marci Washington from teppei ando on Vimeo.

This is kind of old, but I'm going to post it anyway, cause well, what does that matter? This was shot right before we had a small Halloween get together last year. It was really cool. Someone put dried ice in the punch bowl and it looked like a cauldron.

But yeah. Our friend, Teppei started a project where he wanted to interview artists while they're cooking. The only person he interviewed though, was Marci.

To see more of Teppei's work you should go here: Murder Doll House. He makes comics, flash animation movies, and more. I have a hand me down long reach stapler I've been meaning to give him but keep forgetting.

IMG_6968

I sent these postcard sized drawings to a group show in Portland. It's at Breeze Block.

There's a lot of people in this show, including Brendan Monroe, Bwana Spoons, Edwin Ushiro, Evah Fan, Jacob Magraw Mickelson, Jen Corace, John Casey, Kozyndan, Ryan Bubnis, Ryan de la Hoz, Ryan Jacob Smith, and Saelee Oh. These kinds of shows are nice to go to, cause there's just so much work it's hard not to find anything you like.

Huntington Library, Art Gallery and Botanical Gardens

Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens The last time we were in LA we went to the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens. It's probably the largest Botanical Garden I've ever been to. But I don't know if that's saying much, cause I've only been to about half a dozen. It's also the first Botanical Garden I've ever been to where a lot of folks were really dressed up, like in high heels, and then they went out walking for miles.

Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens A few years ago I got really into drawing plants, and so that lead to going to see plants. I don't however really like the idea of growing my own plants, cause really I just want to draw them.

You can see a better image of this on the Huntington's website. It's Vesuvius from Portici. There's a pretty good Pompeii documentary that the put on Netflix. You can see it on youtube here. It has the butler and shittier doctor from Downton Abbey in it.
